Grant writing and editing

Grant Writing and Consulting

Successful grant writing is perhaps the most challenging part of what scientists do and arguably the most important as well.

Grant awards are the lifeblood of every successful research program. However, the competition for these limited resources is tougher than ever.  Our Grant Writing Consultants have decades of experience writing successfully-funded government and foundation grants.

Not only does our team have a proven track record securing grants, our consultants have served as standing members and ad-hoc reviewers on NIH, NSF, and foundation panels. As a result, we have a deep understanding of the review process.  Put simply, our grant editors know what differentiates successful applications from failed ones because they have reviewed hundreds of grants just like yours.

Grant Writing from Start to Finish

We offer grant writing services that cover all aspects of the grant submission process.  Our science consultants provide comprehensive grant application editing of the abstract, specific aims, biosketches, and research plan. We also draft letters of intent that are tailored for specific funding opportunity announcements.

Colleagues that require complete grant writing services (i.e., we write the grant on your behalf) are encouraged to explore a research consulting agreement with us using our Research Consulting Services.

Fee Structure for Grant Application Editing.

Based on the PhD-level expertise of our editors, we charge $150/hr for grant application editing. All of our grant writing consultants have written successfully-funded applications and have served on NIH review panels within the last five years.  Normal editing time is three weeks for a complete grant, two weeks for the research plan only, and one-week for all other individual sections.

When requesting an estimate, please be sure to specify which sections require editing.

"Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on our part"

There is no polite way to say this, and we're as guilty as the next person when it comes to procrastination. However, procrastination and grant-writing do not mix. When considering our grant writing and editing services, please plan well in advance.  Grants have firm deadlines. It is the client's responsibility to be aware of all timelines and deadlines. This includes any internal deadlines for routing, approval, and submission through your institution's Sponsored Projects Office.  If you do find yourself in a time crunch , we may be able to offer expedited delivery.  Expedited service is subject to additional charges and editor availability.
